Publishing Your RSS Feed

In this tutorial, let see How to publish your RSS feed. To publish your RSS feed, click on "Publish" next to the desired feed title in your "FeedManager Home". This will take you to the publishing resources page where you can find different buttons and code for that particular feed that you can use to publish it. You can access these different resources by clicking on each menu item on your left. See below for an explanation to each of them:

RSS Standard Icons:

You may have seen these buttons on several websites. These are the standard RSS icons used to represent the RSS feeds on the web. Interested people click on these buttons to subscribe to your RSS feed when they are displayed on your website.

To display any of these RSS icons on your website, simply select the desired icon by clicking the radio button next to it. This will generate a unique code for the selected button for that particular feed in the text box below titled "HTML Code". Copy this code and paste it into your HTML source of the web page that you want this icon be displayed on.

Once done, the RSS feed button will be displayed on your webpage and your visitors can start subscribing to your feed immediately!

Note: For every different feed, you'll have to repeat the above process as the code for each RSS feed is unique.

Add to Web Aggregators:

In addition to the Standard RSS Icons, you can have these specialised web aggregator buttons displayed on your webpage to make it simpler for your users to subscribe to your RSS feed using a *Web Aggregator*

The procedure to add these buttons to your web page is similar to that explained under "RSS Standard Icons". Please apply the same procedure to these buttons to use them.

Feed Validator:

It is important to have your RSS feed validated and also to show to your users that your RSS feed is valid and contains no errors as they don't like to subscribe to feeds with errors. The best way to do this is to put a "Valid RSS" button on your webpage (preferably near your RSS feed buttons) that takes your RSS feed through the Feed Validator by feedvalidator.org when clicked.

To put this "Valid RSS" button on your webpage, simply click on the "Feed Validator" menu item on your left and then copy paste the code displayed in the "HTML Code" text box into your web page source.

Add to MySite:

MySite is a tool using which anybody can display any RSS feed on thier webpage with just a few clicks. As a publisher, you can allow other webmasters to display your RSS feed on their web pages and help spread your content and bring back traffic to your website.

You can make it easy for others to re-syndicate your content by displaying the +MySite buttons on your web pages. When a user wants to display your RSS feed on his web site, he can simply click on this +MySite button and he'll be taken to RapidFeeds.com where he can find the code that he can paste in his webpage to display your RSS feed. Once the user pastes the code given, your RSS feed will be displayed on his webpage with link back to your original RSS feed.

For more information on MySite, please visit the product page here: *Display RSS feeds.*

The procedure to add these buttons to your web page is similar to that explained under "RSS Standard Icons". Please apply the same procedure to these buttons to use them.

Auto-Discover Code:

This code allows web browsers to automatically discover your feed when a webpage with this code within it is accessed by a user. It is important to put this code in your web pages so as to allow users to subscribe to your feed using means other than clicking on the feed icon. There are other benifits to adding this code to your web pages. For more information see: * Auto-discover code benefits.*

To add this code to your webpage click on the "Auto-Discover Code" menu item on the left, copy the code displayed in the "HTML Code" box and paste it in the section of your webpage.
